An archery education field day is scheduled Thursday, June 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Nishu Bowmen Archery Complex in Bismarck.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s annual bighorn sheep survey revealed a minimum of 292 bighorn sheep in western North Dakota, up 8 percent from last year and 3 percent above the five-year average. Continue reading
Created in the 1960s the North Dakota Game and Fish Advisory Board is made up of eight members, four landowners and four hunter/anglers. Board members serve as liaisons between the department and the North Dakota public. Bi-annual meetings are held in each of eight districts giving citizens an opportunity to discuss fish and wildlife related issues.

North Dakota’s National Archery in the Schools Program state tournament is March 18-19 at the North Dakota State Fair Center in Minot.
In 2015, the tournament featured a record 530-plus student archers. Jeff Long, NASP state coordinator for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, said the event continues to grow and he expects last year’s attendance tally to be easily eclipsed. Continue reading
